Lentils and beans are the cornerstone of Indian food – the downside is they take a fair amount of time to cook and even longer if they need soaking, so The Spice Tailor thought it made sense to soak, spice and cook them for you, so you can have dinner on the table in just 5 minutes.
The Spice Tailor has chosen 4 of their favourite Daals – they are all different, all delicious:
- Bengali Coconut – 400gm – a delicious curry, harmonious, creamy and nutty.
- Delhi Black Makhani – 500gm – a deep rich flavour, a tangy creaminess, a slight smokiness and absolutely delicious.
- Classic Tarka – 500gm – of all the lentil curries that North Indians eat, this would be the most popular – nutty with texture.
- Punjabi Channa Masala – 500gm – a hearty, nutty, spicy and really flavourful Daal. It is a classic blend of North Indian flavours with the delicious and distinct addition of dried powdered pomegranate seeds. These are different from the fruits we eat and have a delicious fruity tang to them.
